The students certified in the theoretical part of the course on the Restorative Justice in Schools - held last year - will begin the practical activities of the training on Monday (May 13th). With the aim of applying the principles and values of the Restorative Justice, working on the dimensions of conflict: relational, institutional and social, as well as implementing management to support this new paradigm of coexistence in the school community, the course has a class load of 40 hours.

At this first stage, until May 16th, the students will be immersed in modules I, II, III and IV before starting their placements facilitating peace-building circles in the school units selected by instructor Taynã Nunes Quixabeira.

According to Taynã, the completion of this stage is very important, as it will allow the students to apply everything they have learned in practice.

This course is important because it complements the theoretical stage. The students will put into practice the lessons they have learned previously and they will experience the stages and assumptions of the peace-building circle, she explained.

Taynã, a master's student in the Judicial Provision and Human Rights Program (ESMAT/UFT), says that the Restorative Justice is an object of study in her research and that the development of the course enables a direct connection with her academic and professional career.
