The School of Judges of Tocantins (ESMAT) starts, on Wednesday (5th), the Judicial Recovery Course. Offered in the distance learning modality, via the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), the course will be held from August 5th to October 13th. The objective is to provide magistrates with the appropriation of the logical, legal and economic foundations of the legal systems of judicial recovery and bankruptcy. Vacancies were also offered for magistrates from other Brazilian states.
With a duration of 78 hours and divided into nine modules, the course will be taught by professor Daniel Carnio Costa, judge of the 1st Court of Bankruptcies and Judicial Reorganizations in São Paulo and by the Judge of law Roniclay Alves de Morais, of the 2nd Court of Achievements of Finance and Public Records of Palmas. The course received the recognition from the National School of Training and Improvement of Magistrates Minister Sálvio de Figueiredo Teixeira (ENFAM) and is valid for two years.
Esmat Virtual Learning Environment will enable interactivity between students and professors, throughout the course, through forums and chats, as well as access to video classes, didactic material, links and other tools that will assist in the process of teaching-learning.
About the professor:
Daniel Carnio Costa has a master’s degree in Comparative Law from Samford University (USA) and a doctorate from PUC / SP. Post-Doctorate, from the University of Paris 1 – Panthéon / Sorbonne (without a thesis). Professor from the Commercial Law Department at PUC / SP. Founding President of the National Forum of Business Competence Judges (FONAJEM). Member of São Paulo Academy. Member of Paulista Academy of Magistrates. Author of several books and articles published in Brazil and abroad.
Roniclay Alves de Morais is a doctoral student in Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). Master in Jurisdictional Provision and Human Rights from the Federal University of Tocantins (2017). He holds a Lato Sensu postgraduate degree in Criminal Sciences from the University of Southern Santa Catarina (2008) and in the Rule of Law and Fighting Corruption by the School of Judges of Tocantins (2017). Graduated in Law at University Center of Anapólis (1999). He joined the Judiciary in Tocantins in 2002. Holder of the 1st Finance Court and Public Records of Palmas District. He was the president of the Association of Magistrates of Tocantins State – ASMETO, during the biennium 2014/2016. He served as an assistant judge of the Tocantins Court of Justice Presidency – biennium 2015/2017. Professor of courses at the School of Judges of Tocantins (ESMAT). Member of the Editorial Board of Esmat. He was the Coordinator of the District Support Center of Tocantins Court of Justice (NACOM) from 2018 to 2019. He was the Secretary of Human Rights and Citizenship of the Association of Brazilian Magistrates – AMB, triennium 2016/2019.
