Registrations are open for the basic training course for environmental mediators

In order to help solving conflicts and reduce judicialization, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) offers the Basic Training Course for Environmental Mediation, aimed at the environmental and forestry engineering professionals, agronomists, and public servers from municipal, state, and federal public institutions that deal with agrarian conflicts. Registration begins this Tuesday (April 19th) and continues through April 29th.

The training has a class load of 100 hours, and 24 vacancies will be available for professionals regularly registered with the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of the State of Tocantins (CREA/TO); servers from the State Public Institutions that deal with environmental conflicts; servers from the Operational Support Center of Environmental Defense (CAOMA). Also available were 8 vacancies for members of the traditional indigenous communities of the State.

The objective of the course is to train participants to act in mediation, with a view of consolidating consensual methods of conflict treatment, especially mediation and conciliation in environmental matters, to social pacification and to broad access to justice, the main objectives of the National Judicial Policy for Adequate Treatment of Conflicts of Interest, established by Resolution No. 125 of the National Council of Justice of November 29th, 2010: Theoretical Part - from May 5th to June 30th, 2022; and Practical Part - from June 30th to December 16th, 2022.
