Esmat promotes Confronting Domestic and Family Violence course against Women

Started last Thursday (August 5th), the Confronting Domestic and Family Violence course against Women, in distance learning mode, through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) of Esmat. Conducted by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), the course lasts 20 class hours and runs until August 30th, 2021.

The course is intended for magistrates of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins, and aims to develop skills in magistrates who work in the Specialized Courts to Combat Domestic and Family Violence against Women and Jury Courts with the task of applying Law No. 11.340 of 2006, with the purpose of the correct application of the National Risk Assessment Form of the National Council of Justice.

Among the contents presented are: The impacts of gender violence and the protective effects of the Maria da Penha Law; The network paradigm and the Confrontation of violence against women; The Evaluation and Risk Form of the National Justice Council. 

About the professors:

Renata do Nascimento e Silva

Master's degree in Legal Sciences from the Law School of the University of Lisbon. She has worked as a law Judge in the state of Tocantins since 2008. Judge - Head of the Criminal Court of Paraíso do Tocantins. 

Graziele Cristina Lopes Ribeiro

Graduated in Law from the Marília University, 1999. Master in International Economic Law, from the Catholic University of Brasília, 2013. Doctor in Constitutional Law, from the Autonomous Law College of São Paulo, 2018. Postdoctoral in  Human Rights from the Salamanca University.

She is currently a professor at the Lutheran University Center of Palmas, a substitute professor at the Federal University of Tocantins and a lawyer. She has experience in the area of Law, with emphasis in Human Rights. Professor of undergraduate and graduate Law.

Márcia Mesquita

Graduated in Social Service at PUC Goiás (1995), Specialization in Domestic Violence Against Children and Adolescents by USP (2001), Specialization in Public Management by UNITINS (2004), Specialization in Administration and Planning of Social Projects by UNIGRANRIO (2007), Specialization in Education, Development and Educational Policies by FAR (2008), Specialization in Judicial Management by FAEL (2012) and Master in Jurisdictional Provision and Human Rights by UFT (2016). Currently working as Technical Analyst - Social Worker at the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, occupying the position of coordinator of the Management Group of Multidisciplinary Teams (GGEM) and teaching at the State University of Tocantins (UNITINS).
