TJTO Mobilizes Units For The 2nd Edition Of Planting To Compensate

The guidelines and goals of the second edition of the project on Planting to ComPENSAR (Compensate) were presented to administrative and judicial units throughout the State, in a meeting held on Friday (November 7th). The meeting marked the official launch of the new stage of the program, which consolidates the institutional commitment of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins to sustainability and the reduction and compensation of greenhouse gas emissions, aligned with the Resolution no 594/2024 of the CNJ - Zero Carbon Justice.

During the opening, the president of the Management Commission of the Sustainable Logistics Plan of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins (PLS-PJTO), Ângela Prudente, highlighted the human and collective dimension of the initiative.

“This project was born from a genuine desire to take care of the present and ensure a more balanced future. The first edition was a success, and now we are moving forward to further strengthen this culture of environmental responsibility," she said.

The magistrate also highlighted the symbolic and practical value of the actions. "Each planted seedling and each awareness activity has an impact that goes beyond the immediate. We have the duty to preserve our living conditions so that the next generations can also enjoy them", she added, inviting the units to act in an active and engaged way. "Sustainability is also belonging. Magistrates, civil servers, contractors and employees are part of this construction.”

National reference

The coordinator of the (Cogersa) Socio-Environmental Management and Social Responsibility of the TJTO, Luciene Dantas, pointed out that for the first time the Court carried out an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, which will allow to direct even more precise strategies of reduction and compensation.

“Today we know our carbon footprint and the impact of institutional activities on the environment. Planting to ComPENSAR (Compensate) is the opportunity to give back to public space what we use every day. Small gestures have a huge impact. The word convinces, but the example drags, and the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins is a reference in sustainability and social responsibility", highlighted.

The environmental engineer of Cogersa, Wélica Rodrigues, presented the guidelines of the notice of the second edition of the Green Seal Award, published last Tuesday (November 4th).
