Esmat Publishes Book For Children That Addresses Restorative Justice In A Playful Way

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) releases, this Monday (July 21st), the launch of the work: The Dindonho Dragon, written by Judge Luciana Costa Aglantzakis and illustrated by Ingrid Athina Costa Aglantzakis.

Aimed at children and young people, the book presents, through a symbolic and delicate narrative, fundamental values of the Restorative Justice, such as empathy, dialogue, transformation and care for the other.

The publication is part of the educational actions of the Center for Restorative Justice in the State of Tocantins (Cejure) and it seeks to foster, from childhood, coexistence practices based on respect, listening and the culture of peace.

“This work comes from a night dream I had with a dragon and desperate people, before knowing the symbology of the Restorative Justice, and it is a proposal - after the peace building circles - the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins provide the book to young people and adolescents, as a proposal of positive memory of a magical moment aimed at the resolution of conflicts and recognition of emotions", highlights the author.

For Judge Luciana, writing The Dindonho Dragon was also an exercise of affection and responsibility. "I hope that each reader will find in this work an invitation to listen, welcome and build more human and less violent bonds," she said.

The work is available free of charge in digital version and it may be reproduced, provided that the publisher and the author are cited.
