Artificial Intelligence Support Is Available To All Brazilian Courts

The first Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool integrated into the Digital Platform of the Brazilian Judiciary (PDPJ-Br), called Apoia (Personal Assistant Operated by Artificial Intelligence), is now available to all courts in the country. Developed by the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region (TRF2), the initiative aims to optimize the day-to-day activities of the Judiciary, promoting greater agility and precision in the analysis and production of legal content and procedural documents.

Apoia has the capacity to create text, image and video content based on user commands, as well as helping judges and civil servers to create reports and menus, revise legal texts, generate procedural summaries, perform thematic screening, visualize collections and detect predatory litigation and repetitive actions.

The tool aims to tackle the day-to-day operational challenges faced by the courts, such as the high volume of cases and repetitive tasks, promoting greater agility and precision. This is done with attention to the correct and controlled use of AI and the protection of sensitive data.

Apoia is integrated into the PDPJ-Br through Conect, an initiative of the Justice 4.0 Program, a partnership between the CNJ and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) that seeks technological innovation in the Brazilian Judiciary. Launched in 2020, the project seeks to develop and improve technological solutions to make the services offered by the Brazilian Judiciary more efficient, effective and accessible to the population.
