Esmat Publishes Artificial Intelligence Handbook (Iagen)

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) in partnership with the Permanent School of Directors of State Schools of Magistracy (Copedem) and the Judicial School of the state of Pernambuco (Esmape) published the book: Artificial Intelligence Manual (IAGEN) in the courts, by Irving William Chaves Holanda, a jurist and technology specialist.

This comprehensive and innovative handbook offers a practical and in-depth guide to the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in the legal sphere, with a special focus on its integration into Brazilian courts. The book covers everything from the basic concepts of IAGEN, such as TOKENS, context windows and PROMPTS, to more complex topics, such as the ethical and legal challenges of AI in the judiciary and the impact of this technology on the reasonable duration of proceedings. In addition, the manual offers a practical guide to structure effective PROMPTS, with specific templates for different areas of law, and tips for optimizing the use of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in legal practice.

About the author

Irving William Chaves Holanda holds a master's degree in Law from the Catholic University of the state of Pernambuco, with a focus on Digital Citizenship. He teaches at Esmape, Esmat and the Superior School of Public Prosecutors of the state of Pernambuco. He has extensive experience in the legal field and specializes in IT Law, Civil Procedure, Constitutional and Administrative Law.
