Residents Praise The Experience At The 17th Congress On Human Rights, Highlighting The Relevance Of Mini-Courses For Judicial Practice

The classrooms of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) received, on Thursday morning (October 3rd), the registered ones in the mini-courses of the second day of the XVII International Congress on Human Rights. Among the topics addressed, one of the highlights was the impact of new technologies on human rights, provoking relevant reflections in the mini-course given by Doctor Liziane Oliveira and Doctor Valter Moura do Carmo.

In another room, Professors Marcelo Fantinato (USP) and Marcelo Lisboa (UFT) led the mini-course on "Process Mining: data science and process science".

Emphasizing the role of memory in judicial decisions and evidence collection, Professor Tiago Gagliano explored this theme highlighting its importance in the legal context.

The residents of the Residency Program and the Postgraduate Course in Judicial Practice at ESMAT, who are actively participating in the Congress, highlighted the relevance of the mini-courses for their training. Gustavo André, one of the residents, praised the didactics of Professor Tiago, highlighting the opportunity to participate in an event of this magnitude.

"The Congress is being a wonderful experience, especially for us residents, and for the chance to participate for the first time in an event with international speakers. It’s something I didn’t even have during under graduation. I’m very happy, and my expectations are very high. Dr Tiago Gagliano is excellent and he explains in a clear way, facilitating our understanding of the content", shared Gustavo.

Denise Beatriz Fernandes Oliveira, also resident, reinforced the importance of the Congress for the State of Tocantins. "The Congress is already traditional in the State, and we expect it every year, especially for the quality of the professionals who come to teach the mini-courses and lectures," he said. Registered in the mini-course on memory, Denise stressed the importance of this topic in the legal context.

"If we analyze, memory should be used in all areas of law, especially in family and criminal actions. Working the emotional of people is fundamental for the humanization of judicial decisions, which is the current focus of the judiciary", she analyzed.

Patrícia Gomes, another resident, commented on the importance of the central theme of the Congress. "I believe that the theme of the Congress is very relevant. Although human rights are often debated, many people, even in the legal environment, do not give due attention. This is essential, especially in the context of the concept of the State of Unconstitutional Things," she said.
