Check It Out: Esmat Makes A Series Of Interviews With Indigenous Leaders Available On Youtube

The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) invites the entire community to check out the series of interviews conducted by Judge Wellington Magalhães with indigenous leaders from the Xerente, Karajá, Apinajé and Krahô peoples.

The project, conceived by Judge Wellington, seeks to discuss ways of aligning and articulating public projects and policies aimed at the indigenous peoples of the State of Tocantins. Leaders Bruna Waikwadi, Waxiy Maluá, Sheila Baxy and Dodanin took part in the interviews.

By listening to and debating with representatives of the indigenous peoples and the public institutions of the State that serve them, the interviews aim to guarantee the rights, respect, autonomy and leading role of these peoples, in accordance with the Article 231 of the Federal Constitution and the terms of the Resolution 454 of the National Council of Justice of 2019.
