Justice Ângela Issa Haonat assumes 1st Deputy Directorate - Esmat Editorial Board

With a vast academic contribution, having acted as a coordinator of the LATO SENSU post-graduation course and professor in the Professional Master’s Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), Justice Ângela Issa Haonat assumed, this Thursday (August 4th), the 1st Deputy Directorate – Esmat Editorial Board – replacing Justice Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe. The new director is post-doctoral in Los Retos Del Derecho Publico (The Challenges of Public Law), from the University of Santiago de Compostela, 2019.

Born in Anápolis, on September 16th, 1961, daughter of Antônio George Issa (IN MEMORIAM) and Najla Elias Issa, Ângela Issa Haonat took office on May 12th, 2022 as the new Justice of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins. A lawyer with an extensive and fruitful legal career, in which she worked from 1984 to 2022, focusing on civil, environmental, and consumer law, she was an electoral judge in the State of Tocantins, in the OAB's vacancy, for the biennial 2017-2019 and 2020-2021. During her performance in TRE-TO, she was the coordinator of the Accessibility Commission and also of the Project + Woman + Democracy, besides being part of the Sociopolitical Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples Project. Among the honors she received are the "Antonio Rulli Junior'' Diploma and Medal in allusion to the 15 years of Esmat for "her contribution to the construction of knowledge and her academic dedication to the scientific research and the improvement of the and Brazilian Judiciary and the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins.

Post-doctorate in Los Retos Del Derecho Publico (The Challenges of Public Law), from the University of Santiago de Compostela, 2019. PhD in State Law, with emphasis in Diffuse Rights. Specialist in Environmental Law (FSP/USP). Specialist in Criminal Law (EPM). Specialist in Contracts Law (CEU). International MBA in Environmental Management (PROENCO). Professor of Undergraduate Studies (Environmental Law and Constitutional Law). Acted in the Post-Graduation STRICTO SENSU of the Master’s Program in Judicial Provision and Human Rights of the Federal University of the State of Tocantins, 2014-2021. Member of the Association of Professors of Environmental Law of Brazil (APRODAB). Member of the Brazilian Institute of Constitutional Law (IBDC). Member of the Editorial Board of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins. She has experience in the area of Law, with emphasis on Constitutional Law, Environmental Law, Consumer Law and Electoral Law.
