Registrations Are Open For The First Land Forum Of The State Of Tocantins

Registrations are open for the I Land Forum of the State of Tocantins, which will be held on November 25th, from 9 am, in hybrid format. The event will take place in person for residents of the city of Palmas, in the auditorium of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), and with live transmission by the virtual platform of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) for people from other regions of the State and the country.

With the theme on "SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: PARTNERSHIPS AND MEANS OF IMPLEMENTATION", the Forum seeks to promote land governance in the State. The proposal is to encourage the exchange of experiences; promote the updating of knowledge; and encourage a critical reflection on the challenges faced by municipalities in the implementation of land regularization policies.

"This Forum will open the National Week of Safe Land in our State and provide the exchange of good practices and exchange of experiences between the land regularization committees of more than one hundred municipalities partners of Nupref. It will also be an opportunity for dialogue and accountability of the work we have done in recent years", said Judge Wellington Magalhães, coordinator of the event.

The Forum is free and open to the public. Three hundred and twenty in-person vacancies and one thousand vacancies for ONLINE participation will be made available. Registrations can be made here.

The programming will include three lectures and specialized workshops on land regularization, with the participation of experts in the subject:

  •  In the morning, Richard Torsiano - international consultant on Land Governance and Administration at FAO/UN/World Bank - will address the issue of land governance in Brazil and the role of the judiciary.
  • On rural land regularization and food security, Vágmo Pereira Batista, delegate of the 1st Notary and Real Estate Registry of the district of Miracema do Tocantins, will bring reflections on land regularization and rural settlements.
  • In the afternoon, Clícia Roquetto, Real Estate Registry Officer of the District of Pinhão (PR) and Director of REURB of ARIPAR and RIB, will talk about the myths, truths and challenges of urban land regularization.

Each lecture will have experienced debaters, who will enrich the dialogue and promote reflections on the proposed themes. For more information on the programming, see the Notice clicking here.
