The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) held, in the afternoon of this Tuesday (April 7th), the opening lecture of the course on "Civil Law and Civil Procedure in Practice: Technique, Resources and Precedents", with a presentation by Professor Fredie Didier Junior on the topic: "Brazilian Multi door Justice System". The training is coordinated by Justice Angela Issa Haonat and the civil server Glacielle Borges Torquato and it continues until May 19th, in the semi-presential mode, with 96 hours per class.

Aimed at magistrates and civil servers working in the offices of the 2nd Instance attached to the Chambers of Private Law, the course was structured to deepen the technical and strategic application of the rules of the Code of Civil Procedure, with emphasis on decisions, procedural statements, resources and precedents.

At the opening, Justice Angela Issa Haonat highlighted the institutional character of the initiative and recalled that the proposal arose from the reorganization of competences in the chambers. According to her, the course was born from the desire to strengthen the updating of offices that operate in private law.

The justice also advanced the possibility of new training provision in response to the registered demand.

“I know that there were people who couldn’t participate in this class, but we are working to repeat the course", she said.

Subsequently, the coordinator Glacielle Borges Torquato highlighted that the training was planned based on the practical needs of acting in the Chambers of Private Law and designed to contribute directly to the improvement of the judicial provision.

Glacielle noted that, with the redistribution of competences in the Court, there was a need to invest in training specifically focused on innovations in Civil Law and Civil Procedure. According to the server, the proposal seeks to improve the judicial activity from the technical update of the offices, "so that we can improve and improve our judicial provision," she said.

Commenting on the choice of faculty, Glacielle highlighted the care in defining the names that integrate the programming. "Each professor was thought of with a finger,"she said.

And she completed: "The names who came here, who will teach us this course, are the best names in the country, on the themes of Civil Procedure and Civil Law”.

The civil server also highlighted the adhesion of the public for the initiative and the expectation of continuity. "We are happy to see this room full," she said. According to her, the demand exceeded the initial number of places and reinforced the importance of expanding the supply.  "The offices really wanted more vacancies," she noted.

The main lecture of this Tuesday officially opened an extensive programming, which will follow with in-person and EaD (distance Learning) modules on fundamental norms, cognition, answers of the defendant, appeals, precedents, civil law applied to the civil jurisdiction, contemporary private law and commercial law. In addition to Fredie Didier Junior, the training will include activities led by Marcelo Bezerra Ribeiro, Arnoldo Camanho de Assis, Rodolfo Pamplona Filho, Fernanda Paes Leme and Verônica Lagassi.
