Workshop on Solidary Selective Collection discusses educational actions with magistrates and servers of the Judiciary and Partners of the Sustainability Network of Tocantins

With the initiative to start the process of awareness-raising, environmental education, and training of judges and employees of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins for the Solidary Selective Collection, the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins, through the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), began on Monday (15th), virtually, the Workshop Solidary Selective Collection - Solid Waste Training - Class III. The program ends on Tuesday (16th).

For the president of the Solidary Selective Collection committee and vice president of TJTO, Judge Angela Prudente, it is a great honor to hold the Solidary Selective Collection Workshop with training on solid waste, in the distance modality, with live broadcast via YouTube on Esmat's channel. "I hope that this afternoon we can absorb all the knowledge that will be transmitted during this event. The Solidary Selective Collection project was born in the Sustainable Logistic Plan due to a constant concern of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins to rethink its attitudes regarding the production of waste generated in its daily activities and how to manage it. We know that more than adopting criteria to reduce waste and environmental degradation, sustainability implies taking decisions and facing challenges that concern the future of our planet and the future of humanity", she recalled.

According to the General Director of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), Jonas Demóstene Ramos, the sustainability theme has a semantic scope on the cultural, economic, social point of view. "If we score the sustainability item, we have the standardization of procedures, the economy, the administrative efficiency and the application of public resources with a worthy commitment of the Court", he said.

In the first lecture, the coordinator of the Socio-environmental Management Center (NUGES-TJTO), Leila Jardim, Master in Jurisdictional Provision and Human Rights, from the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) and Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), and doctoral student in Law, from the University Center of Brasilia-Uniceub, spoke about "Standards and Legislation applicable to solid waste". Next, the manager of the Terms of Adhesion of the TJDFT with the A3P Agenda - MMA - and of the Partnership Term with the Federal District Government and member of the Organizational Climate Committees and of the Health Services Waste Management Plan of the TJDFT, Adriana Tostes exposed the lecture "Experiences on solidary selective collection in the Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories".

The program continues on Tuesday (16th) with explanations on Conceptualization, Characterization and Classification of Solid Waste, among other topics and Management and Integrated Management of Solid Waste. Two other training stages are planned, aimed at the employees of the cleaning system of the units of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins and the other districts.
