General Director Of Esmat Is Honored With Medals From Esmam And Emerj At The Opening Of The LXII Copedem

It started this Thursday morning (Feb 12th), in the city of São Luís (state of MA), the 62nd edition of the Meeting of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem). The official opening took place at the Plenary Hall of the Court of Justice of the state of Maranhão (TJMA), with the participation of the president of Copedem and general director of Esmat, Justice Marco Villas Boas; of the president of the TJMA, Justice José Ribamar Froz Sobrinho; and the general director of the Superior School of the Judges of the state of Maranhão (Esmam), Justice Sonia Maria Amaral Ribeiro Fernandes.

On this occasion, Justice Marco Villas Boas received two institutional tributes. The first was the Academic Merit Medal of Esmam - Justice José Pires da Fonseca -, conferred "for its relevant mission performed in favor of Justice, consolidating a legacy of excellence and inspiration for future generations of this School".

The second was the Medal of the Founder of EMERJ - Justice Cláudio Vianna de Lima, awarded in recognition "for its relevant mission carried out in favor of Justice, consolidating a legacy of excellence and inspiration for future generations of this School”.

The schedule of the first day followed with lectures and exchange of experiences among state judicial schools. At 10 am, Judge Vanessa Ribeiro Mateus, president of AMB, addressed the topic on "Vision of the Law: without continuous training there is no judicial independence". In the aftermath, at 11 am, Master Professor Cidinho Marques conducted the lecture on "Who takes care of who decides?"

In the afternoon, the meeting is dedicated to the presentation of good practices developed by schools of the judges from different States, with emphasis on initiatives aimed at educational innovation, management and institutional cooperation.

The programming continues this Friday (Feb 13th) with the lecture on "From Information to Decision - The Role of Research in Juridical Activity" -, taught by Doctor Professor João Batista Bottentuit, as well as new presentations of good practices. The closing provides for the reading and approval of the Letter of São Luís, a document that consolidates the guidelines and deliberations of the collegium.
