In A Historical Day, The City Of Gurupi Receives New Forum Of The County: "Our Judiciary Will Be Able To Assist With More Comfort And Hospitality”

The city of Gurupi lived this Monday (September 15th), a historic day. After more than four decades of waiting, the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins handed over to the society of the South of the State the new Judge Amilton José de Almeida Forum, a modern, sustainable and dignified space that symbolizes the structural evolution and strengthening of Justice and citizenship.

Emotional, the president of the TJTO, Justice Maysa Vendramini Rosal, who began her career in the County and now she returns as the head of the Judiciary to deliver the work so awaited, highlighted the transformation that the new Forum represents for the provision of services to the citizen.

“With a building with this structure, surely our Judiciary will be able to assist the subjects to the jurisdictions with more comfort and welcoming", said. She pointed out that the new headquarters offers a safer and more efficient environment, ensuring adequate working conditions for magistrates, civil servers, prosecutors, public defenders, lawyers and the parties themselves.

The president also praised the contribution of the justices that preceded it and the civil servers who were committed to the completion of the work, emphasizing the priority of management in ensuring a humanized and inclusive service.

“Our concern is precisely to improve the service, respecting the citizen as he/she deserves, with modern infrastructure and within the accessibility standards, aiming to provide an increasingly inclusive environment.”

Justice that welcomes

The solemn act brought together authorities, magistrates, civil servers, representatives of the Justice System and the general population. The director judge of the Forum, Edilene Pereira de Amorim Alfaix Natário, spoke with emotion about the dream realized.

"Today we inaugurate not only a building, we inaugurate dreams that have become realities, hopes that materialize in brick, mortar, sweat, much work guided by the desire, especially in making justice," she said, emphasizing that the new "Justice that is closer to the people and that is modernized without losing its human essence".

"This new space of Justice represents the materialization of years of collective efforts. Each room was designed to better welcome those who seek their rights", she added.

Recognition and economic impact

The acting governor, Laurez Moreira, emphasized that the new Forum of Gurupi is a dream that began when he was still mayor and received demands on the need for a new space for Justice. He congratulated the Judiciary for the modern work that, according to him, represents an advance for the city of Gurupi and region and will bring more quality services provided by the Justice to the population of the Southern Region of the State.

The mayor of Gurupi, Josi Nunes, also thanked the initiative, highlighting the importance of the Forum for the Justice System and for the development of the city. "This work is important because it brought and will continue bringing economic development. Here we had hands of many workers from the city of Gurupi who built this building and moved the local economy, generating wealth for this city," she said.

On the occasion, the president of the Municipal Chamber, Ivanilson Marinho, presented the TJTO with a Motion of Applause, approved by all councillors, in recognition for the construction of the new Forum.

Tributes and ecumenical blessing

During the ceremony, three tributes were given in recognition of the legacy of dedication that marked the history of the local Judiciary. Judge Edilene Natário received the tribute on behalf of all the magistrates of the County; the oldest serving woman, Maria Erenice da Silva Ribeiro Valadares, on behalf of the civil servers; and the retired Rosanice Alves Ribeiro, on behalf of all the collaborators who have already passed through the County. 

The event also featured an ecumenical blessing by Monsignor Osman Pinto, from the Parish of Nossa Senhora da Abadia, and by Pastor Adolfo Maciel, from the Rosa de Saron Assembly of God.

A milestone for justice and the city

The new headquarters of the third largest district in the state of Tocantins assists Gurupi and six other municipalities: Figueirópolis, Aliança do Tocantins, Dueré, Cariri do Tocantins, Crixás do Tocantins and Sucupira, directly benefiting more than 111,000 people.

With R$ 45 million of investment and 8 thousand m2 of built area, the building replaces old installations from 1983, erected when the city of Gurupi still belonged to the state of Goiás. Now, the County has a large, modern and sustainable space, prepared to respond to the growing demands of the population.

The structure includes 15 offices, 18 judicial courts, a Jury Court hall with capacity for 154 people and extended parking lot. The Forum incorporates sustainable solutions, such as a photovoltaic power plant, with 680 panels capable of generating more than 33,000 kWh per month, in addition to rainwater harvesting system for irrigation of the gardens.

More than concrete and technology, the new Forum symbolizes the commitment of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins to an accessible, inclusive and effective Justice.

Very prestigious, the inauguration was also attended by Justices Pedro Nelson de Miranda Coutinho (chief Justice); Ângela Prudente; Eurípedes Lamounier; João Rodrigues Filho; the summoned Judge Gil Corrêa; the assistant judges of the Presidency, Arióstenis Guimarães Vieira and Esmar Custódio Vêncio Filho; Judge Julianne Freire, vice president of the Association of Brazilian Magistrates; general attorney Abel Leal Júnior; public defender Pedro Alexandre; the president of BAR-TO, Gedeon Pitaluga Júnior; deputy Gutierres Torquato; in addition to directors of the TJTO, local authorities and representatives of civil society.
