A delegation of members of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Mato Grosso (Esmagis) visited the facilities of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) on Friday (November 8th). The group, led by Justice Márcio Vidal, current Deputy Director and future Director for the 2025-2027 biennium, and made up of Claudia Regina Bezerra Candia, General Secretary of Esmagis, and Antônio Veloso Peleja Júnior, Professor and Magistrate, was received by Justice Marco Villas Boas, General Director of Esmat and President of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem).
On that occasion, the visitors were able to see the structure of Esmat up close, such as the classrooms, library, auditorium and other facilities. Justice Márcio Vidal praised the modernity and functionality of the facilities, highlighting the importance of an environment conducive to the learning and development of Judges.
Among the academic activities, the delegation attended the classes of the 12th class of the Professional Master's Degree in Judicial Provision and Human Rights, developed by Esmat in partnership with the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT), and the Legal Residency Program with access to the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Degree in Judicial Practice.
“We were impressed by the structure of Esmat. The commitment of the school to the qualification of the judiciary of the State of Tocantins is evident,” said Justice Márcio Vidal. “The exchange of experiences between the schools is fundamental for improving justice throughout the country,” he added.
Justice Marco Villas Boas thanked the Esmagis delegation for their visit and stressed the importance of collaboration between the institutions.
“It's an honor to welcome our colleagues from the State of Mato Grosso and share our experiences. We believe that the exchange of knowledge and good practices contributes to strengthen the Brazilian judiciary. At ESMAT we offer legal training courses and postgraduate programs that update our knowledge of emerging demands, such as the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence, environmental conflicts and valuing the knowledge and customs of native peoples, as well as the rights of nature,” he argued.
In cordiality with the exchange of managers of the Schools of the Judges, all the members of the Esmagis delegation were awarded the Esmat Medallion, an honor granted to authorities who stand out for their relevant services to the academic training of magistrates and civil servers of the Brazilian Judiciary.
