The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT) has started the "Donate Books" campaign, an initiative aimed at collecting books in order to promote sentence remission through reading in the penal units of Araguaína and Barra da Grota, located in the city of Araguaína.
The librarian of the School, Silvânia Olortegui, visited the Forum of the city of Araguaína and the Penal Units this Monday and Tuesday (August 21st and 22nd) to publicize the campaign to civil servers and magistrates. The action will continue until October 20th, encouraging the social reintegration of inmates through literature.
On Tuesday (August 22nd), Silvânia visited the Penal Treatment Unit of Barra da Grota (UTPRBG), accompanied by the Directors of the penal units: Paulo de Sousa Freitas, Director of UTPRBG, and Paulo Ricardo Sousa Reis, Director of the Penal Unit of Araguaína.
