The Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) held on Monday (November 4th), the 12th class of the Professional Master in Judicial Provision and Human Rights, in partnership with the Federal University of the State of Tocantins (UFT). The welcome to the new students was attended by lectures of doctors and researchers, with the theme on "The Judiciary and the effectiveness of judicial provision". The event brought together magistrates, professors and servers of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins to discuss topics such as the humanistic training of magistrates, the rights of indigenous peoples, conflict resolution by water use, the implementation of custodial hearings, the anti-crime package and the failure to comply with precedents.
In his speech, Judge Wellington Magalhães, a doctor of Regional Development, spoke about the importance of humanistic training for the judiciary. Judge Odete Batista Dias Almeida, also a doctor in Regional Development, addressed the issue of mobile justice and the use of geotechnologies in conflict resolution. Judge Aline Bailão Iglesias, a PhD student at the same Stricto Sensu Graduate Program, spoke about the breadth of the issue of judicial provision, which is revealed not only in legal proceedings but also in all aspects of the promotion of human rights.
The server Yuri Anderson P. Jurubeba addressed the challenges of the anti-crime package and the role of the STF in protecting human rights. Finally, the server Glaciele Borges Torquato spoke about the failure to comply with precedents and the impacts on the justice system. The event contributed to the debate on topics relevant to improve judicial provision and promote social justice.
