Esmat Will Train Magistrates And Civil Servers To Prepare A Socio-Environmental Contingency Plan

From March 25th to April 15th, the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) will hold the in-person course on the Elaboration of a Socio-environmental Contingency Plan, aimed at judges and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins (PJTO) and partner institutions.

The proposal, according to the Notice no. 030 of 2026, is to enable participants to structure institutional plans aligned with the Protocol on Socio-Environmental Crisis of the Judiciary, established by the Resolution no. 646 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), from 2025, strengthening planning and governance to ensure continuity and quality of judicial provision.

With 40 hours of workload, the course, which is coordinated by Justice Ângela Maria Ribeiro Prudente, will offer 30 places, 20 of them for the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins and 10 for partner institutions. The registrations will be carried out by nomination of the Coordination of Socio-Environmental Management and Social Responsibility (Cogersa).

Throughout the timeline, training will cover everything from climate fundamentals and contemporary climate crisis to constitutional and normative foundations, risk management, prevention, response, and recovery in emergencies. The final stage provides a practical workshop for the preparation of the work plan, with definition of goals, indicators and schedule.

The activities will be led by Professors Lucas Barbosa and Souza, Wherbert da Silva Araújo, Cléber José Borges Sobrinho and George Luiz Pereira Santos.
