About the 2030 Agenda

In September 2015, representatives of the 193 member states of the United Nations met in New York and recognized that the eradication of poverty in all its forms and dimensions, including extreme poverty, is the greatest global challenge and an indispensable requirement for sustainable development.

By adopting the document "Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" (A/70/L.1), countries have committed to take bold and changing steps to promote sustainable development over the next 15 years without leaving anyone behind.

The 2030 Agenda is an action plan for people, the Planet and prosperity that seeks to strengthen universal peace. The plan indicates 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the SDGs, and 169 goals to eradicate poverty and promote a life of dignity for all, within the limits of the planet. These are clear goals and goals for all countries to adopt according to their own priorities and act in the spirit of a global partnership to guide the choices needed to improve people's lives now and in the future.
