As part of the Blue November campaign, the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) promoted the IV Workshop on "Care of the Man: Prejudice x Information". The meeting, held in the auditorium of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), in the afternoon of Friday (November 7th), brought together civil servers for a relaxed chat about prevention and male health.
The workshop integrates the calendar of the Health on the Agenda program and brought information in a practical, direct and accessible way to the civil servers. The moment, dedicated exclusively to men, was opened by the coordinator of the Health Center of the TJTO (Cesau), Elaine Ferreira, who celebrated the expressive participation of the civil servers and highlighted that information only makes sense when it turns into attitude.
“It fills us with joy to see this amount of men servers filling the auditorium. But I reinforce the invitation not only to have access to information, but actually put into practice, taking care of and preventing diseases that affect male health, such as prostate cancer", she said.
For the director of the Directorate of People Management (Digep), Paula Maia, the moment reinforces the commitment of the teams in promoting preventive actions. "Thank you all for this action so important to our servers, thanked the director.
The urologist and specialist in robotic surgery, Daniel Carvalho de Melo Rocha, was the guest of the workshop of this year. In the conversation with the civil servers, he stressed the importance of the campaign to stimulate preventive care. According to the doctor, there is still resistance when it comes to the health of men, especially in relation to prostate cancer. "The main mission of the Blue November is to raise awareness. It is not just talking about prostate cancer, but bringing the man to the office, allowing him to take care of health as a whole. Information saves lives," he said.
Dr. Daniel Carvalho closed the lecture with the reinforcement to dialogue, which is one of the most effective tools to change this reality. "When we open space for questions and open conversation, the fear is reduced and guidance comes true.”
The administrative assistant of Digep, Thallison Emanuel Medeiros, who also attended the last edition, stressed that the meeting is worth. "For those who come here thinking that it is only a lecture, it is not. Quite the opposite. The relaxed tone makes us comfortable and the didactics of the doctor is very good, bringing a subject that is a taboo for men in a light way, clarifying several doubts about the prevention and treatment of prostate cancer", he said.
The chat was mediated by the doctor of Cesau, Dr. Luiz Xavier Godinho, who evaluated that actions like this bring positive results.
“The adherence was fantastic in the previous edition. Many men sought care after the workshop and began to look at health with more attention. With the presence of Dr. Daniel again, we expect excellent participation this year again.”
The professionals of Cesau also participated in the action: Bruno Ribeiro Rocha (nurse), Thatyléia Leão (nurse) and Ana Paula Prado Peixoto (social worker).
