Talking about the health of men is still a challenge for many of them. Prevention, however, depends on this open dialogue. For this purpose, the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO), through the Health Center (Cesau/ TJTO), promotes the IV Workshop on "Care of the Man: Prejudice x Information", an event that occurs on Friday (November 7th), from 2 to 6 pm, in the auditorium of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), within the schedule of the Blue November.

It will be an afternoon to listen, learn and take care of yourself, with a lecture and round of conversation, conducted by professionals who know the reality of male health closely. The programming includes the urologist and specialist in robotic surgery Daniel Carvalho de Melo Rocha; the orthopedic doctor of the TJTO, Luiz Xavier Godinho; and the nurse of the Health Center of the TJTO, Bruno Ribeiro Rocha.

The proposal is to talk seriously, but also with acceptance, about what many still avoid talking. At the opportunity, experts will address issues such as prevention, diagnosis and self-care.

Prostate cancer is silent. And precisely because it is discreet, it has become the second type of cancer that kills more men in Brazil, responsible for about 10% of cases of malignant neoplasm in the country. But if the risk is real, the good news is that when discovered early, it can have up to a 90% chance of cure. It is at this point, between fear and prevention that the Blue November enters.

Campaign

Inspired by the Pink October, Blue November was born in 2003 to mark the World Day of the Prostate Cancer (November 17th). Since then, the campaign has become a global movement for life. In Brazil, warning is urgent. According to data from the National Cancer Institute (Inca), a man dies every 38 minutes due to prostate tumor.
