Class III Of The Literary Workshops Reflects On Gender, Sexualities And Justice

Last Tuesday (October 7th), the third class of the project on Literary Workshops – 2025 began, promoted by the Projects and Contract Management Division of the Directorate of People Management (Divpgc/Digep), in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat).

The meeting brought participants together for the first reading circle on the theme of “Gender and Sexualities.” The work chosen to guide the discussion was As Malditas (The Cursed Ones), by the Argentinian writer Camila Sosa Villada. The narrative, centered on the experiences of transgender women in Latin America, provoked sensitive and profound reflections on marginalization, identity, and resistance.

The meeting was mediated by facilitator Cristina Silvana da Silva Vasconcelos, a psychologist with experience in public health and a researcher in gender and sexualities. Over the next few weeks, the group will participate in two more synchronous meetings, continuing the reading of the work and the collective debate on structural issues that permeate social and institutional daily life.

Sarau

The project is scheduled to end on October 22nd, with a Cultural Sarau from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Esmat. The programming will feature a performance by Suça Group, participation by Master Patricinho, the Quilombola people of the district of Chapada de Natividade, a round of conversation discussion, and artistic interventions.
