The Court of Justice of the state of Mato Grosso, based in the capital, Cuiabá, will host the 18th edition of the National Forum on Mediation and Conciliation (Fonamec) between November 12th and 14th. The announcement of the next location for the organization, which was set up in 2014 and seeks to strengthen judicial policy for the proper handling of conflicts, came at the end of Tuesday (17th), the second day of the 17th Fonamec, held in the city of Palmas.
The announcement about the next edition was made by Justice Mário Roberto Kono de Oliveira, from the TJMT, who was on stage in the auditorium of the Tocantins River Palace, alongside Judge Cristiane Padim da Silva, also from the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins.
“I couldn't fail to thank and praise the wonderful welcome we've had here in Palmas, the result of a lot of dedication and hard work by judges, justices and civil servers, which makes it difficult for Mato Grosso, because we have to match it, and that won't be easy at all,” he said, before adding:
"I don't know if we'll be able to do it, but I promise that we'll try to make some of this heat, because Palmas is as hot as Cuiabá, and Cuiabá also has the same warmth to welcome people as the people of Palmas. And that's how we hope to serve everyone in November."
Closing the second day of the event, the coordinator of the Permanent Center for Consensual Methods of Conflict Resolution (Nupemec), Silvana Maria Parfieniuk, thanked those present for their presence and participation.
"I'm proud to be in this gallery to address you all and to thank each and every one of you who are here, who are honoring us by participating in this event that has been thought out and worked on in order to serve everyone who is here. We hope we've met the expectations of everyone and, at this point, we're ending the educational part of Fonamec," said the judge, pointing out that on Wednesday morning (June 18th) there will be a meeting with the members of the forum.
Fonamec
Created in 2014 from the National Meeting of Conciliation Centers, Fonamec aims to strengthen the culture of mediation and conciliation in Brazil. Every year, the forum brings together representatives from the 27 Courts of Justice of the country to align guidelines, share good practices and promote public policies aimed at the consensual resolution of conflicts.
Headquartered in the city of Palmas, the 17th Fonamec will continue until June 18th, with thematic panels, practical workshops and presentations of innovative mediation and conciliation experiences from different regions of the country.
