The V Love in Action Webinar, with the theme: “The legal aspects of Adoption”, was held on Friday morning (May 9th), via the Google Meet platform. As with the other four editions, the event was chosen to take place in May, the month in which National Adoption Day is celebrated (May 25th), reinforcing the institutional commitment to the issue.
The lecture was given by Judge Hugo Gomes Zaher, 1st vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Magistrates for Children and Youth (Abraminj), with the aim of promoting technical improvement and updating professionals who work in the Courts for Children and Youth or who have jurisdiction in the matter on the legal procedures in adoption proceedings.
During the official opening, Judge Manuel de Faria Reis Neto, coordinator of the event, highlighted the importance of integrated action between foster care services and the National Adoption and Foster Care System (SNA), created by the National Council of Justice (CNJ).
“The agility of the SNA must be matched by the capacity of the foster care services to offer a safe and welcoming environment, as well as the expertise of the technical teams to carry out accurate assessments and adequately prepare foster families to receive and integrate a new child or adolescent,” he said.
The initiative of the Webinar is in line with the Goal 1E of the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), which aims to ensure speed in adoption processes registered with the National Adoption and Foster Care System (SNA).
