General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS-TJTO) holds the Webinar Citizenship and Justice in the Indigenous Look in the State of Tocantins - a necessary and rightful dialogue

On April 19th, the date when Brazil celebrates the "Day of the Indigenous Peoples", the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS-TJTO), through the Citizenship Coordination Office, in partnership with the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (ESMAT), will hold the Webinar "Citizenship and Justice from the perspective of the Indigenous People of the State of Tocantins - A Necessary Dialogue and the Law". The programming happens in the virtual format, having in mind the momentary impossibility of agglomerations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program takes place from 9am to 12pm through Esmat's Virtual Learning Environment (AVA) and also on the School's page on the Youtube platform.

Registrations will be made through the Virtual Academic Secretary (SAV), and the link will be available on Esmat's Portal. 1000 vacancies are being offered to Judges, magistrates, employees, and servers of the Judiciary of the State of Tocantins and to the community in general. Conceived by Judge Wellington Magalhães, Coordinator of the Socio-political Inclusion of Indigenous Peoples Project of the Regional Electoral Court of Tocantins and Third Deputy Director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins, the proposal aims to awaken and strengthen the awareness of magistrates and civil servers about the human rights of indigenous peoples, as provided for in Convention 169 of the International Labor Organization and the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil, which in its Article 231 recognizes the social organization, customs, languages, beliefs, and traditions of indigenous peoples.

Among the objectives, are the proposals that the Judiciary of Tocantins has an indigenist performance ensuring the guarantee of a respectful intercultural dialogue; considering and strengthening the autonomy and the forms of organization of indigenous peoples with recognition of their decisions; ensuring adequate information to indigenous peoples and according to the legislation in force.
