Training On Monitoring Decisions Of The Inter-American Human Rights System Will Be Held In August

The course on “Monitoring Decisions of the Inter-American Human Rights System” will be held by the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) from August 4th to 14th. In a hybrid format, the training is aimed at magistrates and civil servers from the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins.

The distance activities will be carried out through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), with WEBCLASSES on the GOOGLE MEET platform, as well as face-to-face meetings at Esmat, totaling 20 hours.

Coordinated by Judge José Eustáquio Melo Júnior, the course aims to analyze the functioning of the Inter-American Human Rights System, with an emphasis on the mechanisms for monitoring and complying with the decisions of the Inter-American Commission and Court, promoting critical reflection on its application in Brazil and strategies for strengthening its effectiveness within the Judiciary.

Divided into two modules, the course will cover topics such as Implementation and Monitoring of Decisions of the Inter-American Human Rights System in Brazil; The Role of the Judiciary in the Control of the Conventionality of Laws and Recommendation No. 123 of the CNJ, among others.

Meet the facilitators

The training will be conducted by Judge Roniclay Alves de Morais, who holds a doctorate in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of the state of Rio de Janeiro, and Valério de Oliveira Mazzuoli, who holds a post-doctorate in Legal and Political Sciences from the Classical University of Lisbon and a doctorate in International Law from the College of Law of the Federal University of the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
