Judiciary Of The State Of Tocantins Participates Once More In The Planet Hour This Saturday (March 28th)

This Saturday (March 28th), a simple and meaningful gesture connects the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins to the whole world. From 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm, the Judiciary once again joins one of the largest environmental movements on the planet: Planet Hour.

During the mobilization, the units, including the headquarters building of the Court of Justice in the city of Palmas, the General Internal Affairs of Justice (CGJUS), the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), as well as the counties and other administrative units throughout the State, were invited to turn off the lights for an hour. The action also involves institutional engagement in registering participation and feeding sustainability indicators, reinforcing the commitment of the Judiciary to the environmental agenda.

The initiative, promoted globally by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), aims to draw attention to the urgency of addressing climate change and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices in everyday life. In the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins, the action is coordinated by the Management Commission of Sustainable Logistics Plan and it follows the guidelines of the Resolutions No. 400/2021, 550/2024 and 594/2024 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ).

The proposal invites magistrates, civil servers, collaborators and all society to reflect on the conscious use of natural resources and the importance of sustainable attitudes in everyday life.

Planet Hour

Established in 2007 in Sydney, Australia, Planet Hour has become a global movement, mobilizing millions of people in more than 180 countries. In Brazil, the campaign has been carried out since 2009 under the coordination of WWF-Brazil, bringing together public institutions, companies and citizens around a single purpose: to promote awareness and encourage concrete actions in defense of the environment.
