On August 21st and 22nd, the city of Vitória (ES) will host, for the first time, the Meeting of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem). The event brings together directors, coordinators and advisors of Judicial Schools from all over Brazil with the objective of discussing strategies for improving the Judiciary and (or) servers of the Judiciary, in addition to promoting actions aimed at institutional strengthening and approch with society.

The host of this edition is the School of the Judges of the State of Espírito Santo (EMES), which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025. Throughout its history, Emes has consolidated itself as a reference in the initial and continuing training of magistrates and civil servers of the Judiciary of the state of Espírito Santo. This year alone, the institution has already held more than 100 courses and events, with over 4,000 participants - including representatives of civil society.

Justice Júlio César Costa de Oliveira, director of EMES, highlighted the mission of the School to ensure a Justice more prepared and closer to the citizen. "We are in a continuous search, in order to meet our population of the state of Espírito Santo with well-trained judges and prepared servers," he said.

The academic and institutional programming of the meeting will address topics such as the Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Judiciary, Confronting Harassment and Discrimination, as well as expanding dialogue with diverse audiences through international events. "Our purpose is to encompass the entire Judiciary and all social classes," said Justice Júlio César.

Justice Marco Villas Boas, president of Copedem and general director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat), stressed the importance of the meeting as a space for articulation among state judicial schools.

“The training of magistrates must accompany the social and technological transformations in the country, without losing sight of the constitutional commitments to citizenship and human dignity. Copedem fulfills this role by promoting the exchange of experiences, strengthening the performance of schools and encouraging innovation in judicial education", he said.
