The diversity of accents took over the classrooms of the city of Palmas on Sunday (June 29th), during the first stage of the VI Competition for Substitute Judge of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO). With 1,994 applicants, the competition offers seven immediate vacancies, as well as a reserve list. The objective test was held from 1pm to 7pm in seven schools in the capital, with an abstention rate of approximately 38%.
Coming from all over the country, the candidates shared their expectations and stories of overcoming obstacles, such as that of Adriane Ramos, from the city of Araguari, who has already taken the exams in the states of Manaus and Sergipe. "Competitions are a process. One day it will work out. I'm studying hard and I'm confident," she said.
Yasmim Vital from the state of Espírito Santo was also among the participants and highlighted her concentration strategy. "I avoid leaving the room, having a snack or even drinking water during the exam. I try to stay focused as much as possible, because I know the demands are high," she said.
Candidate Fernando Santos Maia left the city of Rio Branco, in the state of Acre, to compete for a position as a judge. "I've been pursuing this dream for three years. I graduated in Law as a second degree with the aim of becoming a judge. Today is another chance to make that happen," he said confidently.
The Organizing Committee of the Competition, chaired by Justice Eurípedes Lamounier, was present at the Senator Antônio Luiz Maya Military College of the State of Tocantins, the unit with the highest concentration of candidates, to monitor the opening of the test bags, the closing of the gates and the progress of the evaluation, with the aim of ensuring the legality and transparency of the selection process.
The Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), hired as the organizing body, is in charge of running all the stages of the competition.
“FGV already has recognized experience in large-scale competitions, and this technical performance reinforces the credibility of the process. Everything went smoothly," said the chairman of the Commission.
Flávia Rodrigues Cunha, a prosecutor; Priscila Madruga Ribeiro, a lawyer from the BAR/TO; José Ribamar Sousa da Silva, secretary of the Commission; and Caroline Santana, executive coordinator of FGV, were also present.
The preliminary results of the objective test will be published next Tuesday (July 1st) on the website of FGV.
