Esmat And Copedem Present Proposal To Mec For Regulation Of Dl (Ead) In Judicial Schools Of Government

Fulfilling an institutional agenda aimed at strengthening public education, Justice Marco Anthony Steveson Villas Boas, general director of the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) and president of the Permanent College of Directors of State Schools of the Magistracy (Copedem), participated, on Tuesday morning (June 10th), in the official meeting with the Directorate for the Regulation of Superior Education (Direg), linked to the Secretariat for the Regulation and Supervision of Superior Education (Seres) of the Ministry of Education (MEC), in the city of Brasilia.

On that occasion, Daniel Ximenes, director of DIREG/MEC, was given a draft proposal for the regulation of Distance Education (DE) within the scope of the Judicial Schools of Government.

The initiative seeks to contribute to the new regulatory framework for the modality in the country, established by the Ordinance No. 381 of MEC of May 21st, 2025, and it aims to align the work of the Schools of Government with the parameters of quality, institutional recognition and legal certainty required by the current legislation. The Judicial Schools play an essential role in the continuing education of civil servers and judges, promoting technical qualification, innovation and excellence in public service.

Medallion

As a gesture of institutional recognition, Justice Marco awarded director Daniel Ximenes the Esmat Medallion for his work in judicial education and the consolidation of a federative dialogue between MEC and the education bodies of the public administration.

On the same occasion, the Secretary for Regulation and Supervision of Superior Education, Marta Wendel Abramo, was also honored. She is a career civil server who has stood out for her technical and democratic leadership of SERES/MEC, making a decisive contribution to improve public policies for superior education in Brazil.

Delegation

The institutional delegation also included Ana Beatriz de Oliveira Pretto, executive director of Esmat, and Jair Santos Júnior, an educational consultant. The participation of the team reaffirms the commitment of Esmat and Copedem to the permanent improvement of the educational offer, the strengthening of inter-institutional partnerships and the valorization of initiatives that expand access to knowledge, the provision of justice, the promotion of human rights and citizenship.
