General Chief Of Justice Lists Pillars Of Management, Defends Union To Improve Work And The Judicial Provision In The State Of Tocantins

Upon taking office as General Chief of Justice of the state of Tocantins for the 2025/2027 biennium, Justice Pedro Nelson Coutinho listed transformation and resolution as pillars of management. The proposal to work jointly and collaboratively with the Presidency of the Court of Justice of the State of Tocantins (TJTO) and the Superior School of the Judges of the State of Tocantins (Esmat) was highlighted by the magistrate in his statement on the afternoon of this Tuesday, day 3, during the opening of the Judicial Year of 2025 and tenure of the board of directors of the TJTO.

The Chief Justice pointed out that he will act with a look at "equalization of labor forces" of the first degree. "We need to look at the first degree of jurisdiction with the dignity and respect it deserves in order to promote the equalization of labor force, as well as find the best way for counties, couts, secretariats, CPEs, etc.".

The justice also made a point of commenting that the union and support of the collegiate will be essential for "being reflected in our work in search of social peace, the trust of the population and, above all, to strengthen the confidence that we have in those who gave their lives to dedicate themselves to the magistracy as a priesthood.

Beautiful work

The then-appointed General Chief of Justice highlighted the "beautiful work" that Justice Maysa Vendramini performed at CGJUS between 2023/2025 and also recalled that two years ago the TJTO elected an administration composed essentially of women who acted "with seriousness, brilliance, decency and above all, a lot of competence". "It was a great pleasure to have them in charge of our Judiciary. Women Justices Etelvina Maria Sampaio Felipe, Angela Prudente, Maysa Vendramini and Jacqueline Adorno, your excellencies are an example and a pride for the Judiciary of the state of Tocantins", he said.

The pillars of the management

When discussing the pillars: "transformation and resolution", he touched once again on the purpose of uniting efforts. "Together we will seek to build a collaborative and innovative environment, where each challenge will be an opportunity to grow and achieve significant results".

On transformation, the goal is to promote "the necessary changes, through continuous dialogue, reducing unnecessary bureaucracy, technological progress and efficiency". "To project the necessary transformation in search of the so dreamed social justice, it is essential to see the despair and it takes determination and courage to do the right thing, and humility to reflow when necessary and reformulate the ways."

The resolvability was defined with the aim of being in convergence with the transformation principle. The goal of the General Chief of Justice is that "every problem identified does not remain unanswered, always attentive to the innovations of each time and social changes, which do not always accompany legislative changes". "The reflection of this action should always be based on what we live in today and so that we can guarantee for the autonomy of all judges, independence and freedom whose reflection is guaranteed to social welfare," he said.

Defense of the judiciary

The Justice made a defense of the justice system. "It is necessary that we join forces for the guarantee of freedom in the construction of a fair, free and fraternal society and so that we can show the importance of the power that we exercise and that pacifies, bringing social peace and guarantees the democratic state of law. These weakened powers will always have a weakened side of the process and this is not what we want for our country," he argued. "We need serious, competent, independent judges with their prerogatives guaranteed to judge correctly and ensuring the tranquility of those who seek the judiciary. All this will only be possible if there is a perfect symbiosis between the Presidency and the General Internal Affairs through much dialogue, work and common focus and thinking of the institution above all", he concluded.

He also said about the pride that he has on the court, its members and the work that is developed by all. "Just as I am proud of the judges and servers who do a brilliant job in the counties and commissions. You all fill my heart with hope for the serious, devoted and competent work that you do. My reverence."

At the end, he thanked Justice Adolfo Amaro Mendes, his deputy chief of justice, and the magistrates who will assist him in his management plan, the assistant Judges Marcelo Laurito Paro and Manuel Faria Reis Neto, who will be part of the team. At the end of the speech, he honored people who he thinks are important in his life and family.
